And my adventure through the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) is finally finished.
I’ll be honest, I’m kind of out of gas at this point. I was actually planning to do more for Project Holy League Universe 3.0. By that, I mean editing the whole thing1 to make it more coherent. Unfortunately, I just didn’t have the will to do that - not at the moment.
I’ll explain below…
If you’re new to this series, here are my previous logs:

Reflection
I’m still in the Land of Lincoln2. The previous log showed my frustration with the whole thing. To be honest, part of this was me not being able to really get some time for myself. Also, I’m having a cough fit that wouldn’t go away which is annoying. And finally, I didn’t do as much as I wanted to on this project.
Then, I exposed myself to some more Substack drama and whether or not Substack should do more to help the little guy and whatnot. Eh whatever, I can see both sides. The only reason I brought it up is because it contributed to my current moroseness3.
There’s more but I don’t want to get too personal4. To summarize, I’ve been thrown a lot of little things which individually won’t affect me but when added up just puts me in a bad mood.
Yeah, a lot of things just didn’t go the way I wanted.
But you know what? That’s okay. Because I was able to achieve my minimum goal of putting together a manuscript that’s at least 50k words. Last I checked, it’s about 56k words.
Taking my W
The bad thing about Project Holy League Universe 3.0 is that I’m probably going to put this novel in my trunk. I don’t see me putting this out for someone else to read anytime soon, not even a beta reader. It’s just that rough.
The good thing about this project is that this has been a fun experience5. Also, I have another trunk novel now so that’s cool, I guess. Finally, I got this cool certificate:
I’m glad to show it off though I don’t know if I actually deserve it given that most of the words in my project had been written beforehand. That’s why I didn’t put my name on the website’s public list of 2023 NaNoWriMo winners, I didn’t really do this challenge legit.
Oh well. It’s not like this is a competitive sport.
Moving Forward
Personally, I don’t see myself doing another NaNoWriMo challenge. One is enough. That being said, if you want to see my NaNoWriMo profile, click here.
Who knows? Maybe I’ll change my mind by next year. But I doubt it.
As for what I’ll be doing after this NaNoWriMo challenge? To put it simply, I’m aiming to publish fiction once more. As you might know from my previous logs, I have finished The Iniquity of the Federation6. For now, I’ll let that story rest before I start editing it to something consumable for the general public.
And that’s my 2023 NaNoWriMo challenge. I hope you’ve enjoyed my weekly logs and daily chat updates this November.

Also, rewriting one of the stories I put there.
No funny jokes this time.
Is that even a word?
Even though this is basically a personal log.
I’ll be honest though, I don’t feel like I’m having fun right now.
Read my previous logs (3 and 4 to be more specific) to know more about that.
