Index of Microfiction (#76-100)
A collection of microfiction stories that I've posted all around Substack. This is the latest one.
Author’s Note: This is my fourth Index of Microfiction. As I post more microfiction, this list will continue to grow.
Here are the previous indexes for the sake of convenience:

Генерал Мороз
[Originally posted on Notes, February 27, 2025] [100 words]
The divination was a success, the white-bearded figure of Генерал Мороз appeared before me.
“What is it do you desire that you woke me from my slumber?”
“Your strongest one yet,” I told him. "Barbarians from the West invade."
"Nay. Much power will that take."
I bowed, prostrated myself before him. "But my people..."
"... are irrelevant to me. Western or Eastern, barbarian or civilized. Winter will come."
At this, I whispered to him what I was willing to give. His eyes widened; his kind never could understand desperation.
He thundered with laughter. "Very well. Your enemies shall know frost."
Persian Bargain

“How much for this one?”
“One hundred rials.”
“What? The one across the street sells for ninety.”
“Trust me, my friend. You’ll never see a finer selection of rugs anywhere else in Persia. Even the Shah marvels at how great my rugs are. You will not want to go anywhere else. This one you’re holding… is the best crafted by my wives and children.”
“The best crafted? There’s a hole in it!”
“That is deliberate, my friend. Everyone does it in Isfahan, my friend. For none of us are perfect. Truly, only Allah is perfect, my friend. One hundred rials.”
Angels
[Originally posted on Notes, March 7, 2025] [100 words]
How do you tell a good angel from a bad angel? It’s very simple, really; the key word is emotion. Angels are not humans, they are not men and women with wings. They are an entirely different class of creatures, devoid of body and (more importantly) feelings. Angels don’t care about your feelings, only to carry out God’s will; or in the case of the bad ones, to oppose it.
A bad angel will simulate emotions, not because they understand but to manipulate you. Good ones, seeking only to help, will have no use of them, so be not afraid.
