Message From Arcturus
A space probe had just relayed a message, proof of extraterrestrial life. But it was not what was expected.
Author’s Note: Okay, So I did say I was going to take a break from posting new stories. But I was able to write this one. And I don’t feel like keeping this in my hard drive indefinitely.
So here you go!

Hey Boss,
Big news! We just received a message directed to one of our unmanned probes. The one that’s right around Arcturus.
After all this time in our search for alien life, we finally found proof! And it only took us a century after the development of the electro-travel. Surely, I’m not the only one discouraged by all the barren worlds we’ve been finding. Guess all those cash invested in the occult division is worth it after all. I hope these aliens are open to telling us where they live. This will be the greatest breakthrough in science since the Great Paradigm Shift.
However, the message is odd. Definitely not what I expected. The whole thing is attached to this e-mail. Please take a look at it as soon as possible.
Sincerely,
Mark

Fear Not!
Look up to the sky, look to the stars. What do you think you see? Just balls of gas guzzling about? That’s what the man in the white coats have been telling you. That’s what your human scientists want you to believe.
I am not omniscient, but I do know my human affairs.
Now then, what if I tell you the cosmos – the firmament – is more interesting than that? What if there’s more to the stars than what your science has been telling you?
That’s not an if. That’s the whole truth.
Before we get to the stars, though, let us discuss the whole universe first. And I would remiss if I didn’t mention the Earth. The place created by Our Lord, and which had been put at the center of this beautiful creation. Yes, that place that your ignorant wisdom decided was nothing but an insignificant ball of rock.
Then again, you also believe yourselves to be nothing special. Odd.
Surrounding this Earth is the whole cosmos. From the beginning, there was order – the lights had been placed under our care. Many of us, like myself, was given a light to look out for. And it was good. It was all pristine, moving as it was meant to be.
But when a third of us rebelled against the Lord, this threatened the stability of the universe. But chaos did not enter into the firmament until the Fall.
Ah! Do you think, sons of Adam, that your sin was limited only to the Earth? No. No. No. Because of sin, the universe is falling apart into pieces. Bit by bit.
Down on Earth, warfare is obvious. Wars between humans, blood spilt by bronze, iron, steel, gunpowder – and now laser. Meanwhile, spiritual warfare is easy to see, even for man. The salvation and – Lord forbid – the loss of souls are unmistakable.
But up here in the Firmament, the battle to maintain order from the chaos is subtle. The results could be seen, though. What you call supernova, are the result of such chaos. Casualties of war. Black holes, another result of the battle in the cosmos.
I tell you all this out of the charity. It is clear that you have been seeking to communicate with the inhabitants of stars and planets. That said, cease this contact! Because you might instead run into the creatures of chaos.
They are a lot more pleasant. And damning.
The Lord Be With You,
Arcturus
