A reader's map for Germanicus Publishing.
***If you happen run across this post, please ignore everything below. At the moment, I decided to retire this post. But I don’t want to delete altogether in the event that I might use it again.***
Dear Reader,
I’m glad you can make it here. For those who are curious, Germanicus Publishing acts as the locus for my fiction-based works. This is where readers can find a novel serial, short stories, flash fiction pieces, reviews, and many others. With this smorgasbord of content, I know it can get a little overwhelming. So I hope this post can help you navigate through it all.
Sincerely,
Michael P. Marpaung
Make Use of the Tabs
When readers enter into Germanicus Publishing using the web, they may notice these links just above the pictures. These are the tabs. They bring readers into various different sections of Germanicus Publishing.
Table of Tabs
I will get into each of these tabs from left to right. Click on each link to learn more about them:
Home
As the name suggests, this is the homepage for this Publication. Sounds simple, right? It should be, but there are some things here that readers should check out.
The Top Display
The top of the home page displays the posts that are either recently published or are being pinned to the top.
At the moment, there are three posts that are pinned into the top display: the “Synopsis & Table of Contents” of my novel, Inquisitor’s Promise (I’ll get into that), the directory for Germanicus Publishing, and the introductory post for “the Holy League Universe”. These three posts are located in the middle or at the left hand of the Top Display.
Meanwhile, the right hand of the Top Display shows the most recent posts that was published here.
Most Popular
This shows my posts which had been the most well-received by readers so far. Readers curious of what this publication has in store should check these out.
The Lower Display
The lower display shows older posts. However, readers may use the tabs to show the most popular ones (“Top”) or the ones with reader comments (“Community”).
But next to the Lower Displays are many other stuff to check out.
Recommendations
Near the top of the sidebar is the “Recommendations” section. Germanicus Publishing is recommending many publications all across Substack. These are but five of them. For more of them, click on the ‘View All’ link.
Blogroll
Below the recommendations are the blogroll, these links will take readers to places beyond Germanicus Publishing.
At the top is “My Other Substack Works”. Here, readers can find my works elsewhere in Substack. This include my own personal blog, my short-form review series indexed in Substack Notes, and a guest post I wrote.
In the middle is “My Works Elsewhere”, this is where readers can find works I’ve published outside of Substack itself.
The bottom is where the readers can find the list of my “favorite Substack novels.” Each of the links will take you to a serialized story in Substack that I’ve enjoyed.
That was the homepage. Click here to return to the Table of Tabs.
Chat
When readers click on the “Chat” tab, they will be taken to this page:
Chat is the place where I put some things pertaining to my work that I’m not yet ready to commit to a post. It’s something that I do for fun. Feel free to check it out and chime in.
But keep in mind that you need to be subscribed in order to take part.

My serialized space opera web novel. Taking place in the 74th century, Inquisitor’s Promise follows the story of young Inquisitor Aeneas Aquilanus who has two promises to fulfill: one to his dying father, the other to his beloved Galatea.
It is completed and entirely posted in Substack. In this section, readers can see all of the chapters that had been published in addition to the Synopsis and & Table of Contents.

Flash Fiction
Clicking on this tab will bring readers to a section pertaining to my standalone stories. Each of these stories are less than 1,000 words in length. I have posted at least five flash fiction stories in Germanicus Publishing. Here’s my favorite:

This tab pertain to the microfiction stories I have posted all over Substack. Each of these stories are at or less than 100 words. This section contains my long-form review series, Fiction Analysis. In general, these reviews seek to analyze these books from three angles: the setting, the characters, and the story. Furthermore, these long reviews are limited to books that I’ve enjoyed.
So far, I have posted over five reviews as part of Fiction Analysis. Here’s one review of a book that I really enjoyed:

And more?
No, there are no more tabs. But I’d like to talk a little more about this publication. Germanicus Publishing is a free-to-read publication. That means everything here is free of charge. That being said, I also have paid subscription turned on. Why? Because at the end of the day, my writings are a product of my labor. While my works are free, I appreciate every bit of support.
If readers want to support but think that a monthly subscription pro bono is too much to ask, then feel free to visit my digital tip jar and make a one-time donation:
